My Story!

Hello, I’m Tony Bradshaw and I am captivated by great food, fresh ingredients and hospitality. My work really doesn’t feel like work, when I can create a phenomenal dining experience.

I was born on the island of Barbados and first showed my entrepreneurial spirit as a pre-teen. I saved my lunch money and purchased a hand held Atari game, and then charged my classmates 25¢ to play a game.  I then approached a wholesaler and purchased household goods to sell door to door.  In my late teen years, I worked multiple jobs, starting full time at a grocery store. Then ambition led me to approach a travel company, for an additional job as a tour guide for visitors to the island during the day, while working at the grocery store at night.

After moving to Toronto, I started to develop my passion for delivering terrific hospitality, food and service. In 1994, I joined the team at 360 – The Revolving Restaurant at the CN Tower. Over six years, I worked my way up from the reservation department and hosting in the restaurant, to Reservations Supervisor, Reservations Manager and finally Restaurant Manager.  In 1997, I was one of eleven employees selected to attend a one week wine connoisseur’s course in Bordeaux, France, to study wine and food of the Bordeaux region. While at 360, I attended Ryerson University and completed my studies in Hospitality and Restaurant Management.  

The prestigious Morton’s of Chicago Steakhouse was coming to Toronto; I applied for the position and less than a month later I was on a plane to Chicago to start the three month management training. Morton’s of Chicago in Toronto was opened six months later and I lead the service program on the opening team.  Two years later Morton’s of Chicago was expanding in Canada again, this time in Vancouver.  I was selected as the General Manager and after three months of training in San Francisco, I moved to Vancouver and successfully opened Morton’s of Chicago in Vancouver.

After two successful years at Morton’s in Vancouver I returned to Toronto.  I spent the next 12 years as General Manager & Regional Director at Service Inspired Restaurants before I realised my dream of owning my own restaurant.  

Street Shak Caribbean Kitchen was launched in April of 2016 - a fast casual concept specializing in fresh, elevated Caribbean dishes.  

Our catering business continued to grow, which lead me to transitioning the restaurant to Street Shak Caribbean Catering in July 2019. Now, Street Bites extends my dream of sharing great tasting food, made with the freshest ingredients, delivered with exemplary service.
